History and Profile

The late John Bosley commenced practising in 1929 and soon built a strong litigation practice. The firm prospered and was well established in East Sussex by the early 1970s when Michael Dring and later Michael Hastilow became Partners and John Bosley continued as Consultant.

Gerard McCullagh became a Partner in 1988 joining Michael Hastilow in partnership and Michael Dring became a Consultant. Michael Dring has since retired although he remains in regular contact and Mr Shahjehan Amin, a former trainee of the firm, joined the partnership in 2008.

Over the years Bosley & Co has established a reputation for delivering a tailored and excellent service competitive in price and speed of delivery.


- Michael Hastilow has expertise in the following areas: Residential and Commercial Property and Development, Business Sales and Acquisitions, Wills Probate and other Private Client matters.

- Gerard McCullagh heads a Private and Commercial Litigation team with representation in civil matters specialising in matrimonial representation for all parties.

- Shahjehan Amin leads the Childrens Team.

- Each department is supported by support staff.
